I went to the beach
hoping to see just a sunset
get my feet wet in the warm surf
feel the sand between my toes
I do like to walk along the edge of the surf
so I really don't look for shells
I never expect to find a treasure
or even a lost watch
more like seaweed
or dead fish
but I did timidly throw out my fishing line
and caught a mermaid
am I a lucky guy or what
